Hello World!

Welcome to my Blog!  Being an Information Technology (IT) Geek I have to add WordPress to the list of languages/products I’ve learned over many years of working with technology so this is my “Hello World” for Blogging!

For those of you not up on geekspeak, as IT folk learn new things often the first thing they do is write the very simplest of programs to print output to the screen…every newly minted programmer has written a simple program like this to illustrate their basic command of the technology…my first program back in the BASIC language…

10 PRINT “Hello World!”

20 GOTO 10

…would render Hello World! repeatedly across the screen and proved I could control this new beast and make it do my bidding!!  Many a TRS-80, Timex-Sinclair, and Commodore 64 were tamed in those early days!

So this is my first simple blog post as I learn how to get around WordPress after years of reading other people’s blogs and toying with the idea of doing the same.

Quick intro – I’m a “seasoned” veteran of life and Information Technology with a variety of interests and passions.  My wife and I have 2 children now both off to college and with the nest empty and evenings and weekends no longer populated with kid’s activities, sports, and school we find ourselves figuring out just what to do with the rest of our lives.  We love to travel and have been able to visit some beautiful and interesting places over the years and we’re looking forward to doing more and looking seriously at purchasing an RV travel trailer to be our “home on the road” for some of those travels.

I hope to blog about fun adventures for couples and families as well as the trials and tribulations of buying and using RVs as well as other passions like technology, Jeeps, Mustangs, boating, photography, and various and sundry other things as they come up.
